Our mission at Eco Tableware is to minimize the impact on our environment by using eco-friendly products and educate the next generations to create a clean, sustainable and safe environment.
Eco Tableware focuses on serving fully biodegradable, compostable and sustainable products such as plates, bowls, take out containers, spoons etc. created from natural and renewable resources such as sugarcane fiber (bagasse) and areca leaf (palm) in order to minimize the environmental impact and offer a positive return to the environment.
Plastics and Styrofoam products are usually cheap and abundantly available in the market, making them attractive to businesses and consumers. We use these products at social gatherings and for efficiency, without considering the implications of throwing them away or the impacts on our own health. When coupled with hot food and beverages, such as tea, coffee and soup, Styrofoam and plastic can release chemicals that can cause harm to us.
With an increasing use of plastics in everyday packaging and products, we are finding more and more of this discarded waste in our oceans and landfills. Not only is this aesthetically unpleasant, but many ecosystems are irreversibly harmed and damaged. It can take over five hundred years for plastics to decompose and when placed in landfills, the leachate eventually releases into the environment, degrading our groundwater, soils and streams as well as negatively affecting wildlife and human life.
Many cities around the world such as New Delhi (India), San Francisco (US), New York (US), Mexico City (Mexico), Sydney (Australia) are taking steps to reduce the use of Styrofoam and other plastics in packaging and products. This ranges from charging for plastic bags at grocery stores to banning single use, disposable plastic products to encourage greener, more eco-friendly habits amongst consumers.
We at Eco Tableware strive to promote environmentally friendly living habits by offering alternative choices for disposable plastic and Styrofoam tableware while promoting a sense of community and environmental awareness.
